This is stated to reduce noise when the device is operative. The device comprises a flexible diaphragm 14 separating a high-pressure water chamber 13 from a low-pressure water chamber 15. The latter communicates through duct 16 with the suction openings 26, 35 of the Venturi tube. Cold water enters the device at 11 and passes through duct 19 into the Venturi tube thereby causing a pressure drop in chamber 15 which produces movement of the diaphragm 14 and thus of a plunger 18 connected to the gas valve of the heater. A water flow regulator 17 is provided. Heated water enters at 20 and is discharged through outlet 21.
