The mattress frame for a folding seat-cum-bed is made up of three main parts (1, 2, 3) and an intermediate part (5) which are folded up, into a volume which is a parallelle-piped and whose height equals the length of the intermediate part (5). The width is equal to the length of the middle part (2), and the length equals the width of the frame. The frame is folded up so that the middle (21) and front (22) feet are completely enclosed in the first phase. A hinge point is situated between the attachment points on the head (1) and middle (2) sections. The hinge point is positioned on the top end of two levers each swinging on base axles situated at each end of a slide bar fixed inside the couch. The levers supporting the head (1) and middle (2) sections are joined by a bar. The intermediate piece (5) consists of an elbow piece mounted in parallel and supporting a hinge axle with control link for folding the middle and front legs.
