<p>The bulk heterogenous material compactor is particularly for office and domestic waste. It comprises a horizontal body in which a piston slides under the action of two or more rams mounted outside the body, which is open at both ends. In the top of the body are two adjacent openings, through which the different types of material are loaded, as decided by the operator. It operates continuously, the piston progressively uncovering the port of one opening so that material of one kind drops in and covering that of the other, to compact tha material of the other kind, on the outward stroke. On the return stroke, the processes are reversed, and the material is either tied in bales as it emerges from the body end, or ejected into containers.</p> |
