Non-skid sole for safety shoe - has longitudinally positioned pads separated by channels giving contact ratio of fifteen to fifty per cent

The sole is fitted to a safety shoe to provide a non slip surface. It is moulded onto the uppers and has a number of raised pads (P1, P2, P3) over its surface. These pads are basically rectangular in shape and are positioned with their longer sides parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shoe. The pads are of various sizes and are not arranged in line, being staggered transversely to provide different widths of channels (Ca1, Ca2) between them. The ratio of contact area can vary between 15 and 50 per cent and the arch portion of the sole is thickened.
