Plastic bag comprises a closed bottom and, to form a wide top opening, side folds which are folded inwardly into the bag when the bag is closed. At the top side of the bag are fastening and suspension means each consisting of a reinforced closure strip fixed by a flap to the inner surface of the bag, so that when the bag is hung up, the closure strips project perpendicularly from the bag wall.The closure strips are pref welded to the bag, and have holes for securing or hanging the bag, and mating holes and projections for closing the bag. The length of a closure strip pref corresponds to the width of the bag.The bag can be used for disposable sanitary towels, nappies, tights, etc. and due to the side folds has a large enough opening to hold its contents without escape of odour.
