<p>A laminated safety sheet comprises two glass sheets of equal thickness enclosing >=1 layers of different thickness of thermo. hardenable liquid resins polymerised in situ. The resin comprises (a) >=1 oligoesters (1) contg. maleic gps. each of which has a free acid gp., (1) being the reaction pdt. of maleic anhydride with polyhydroxy cpds. (11), using 1 mole of maleic anhydride per OH gp., (b) >=1 vinyl cross-linking monomers as 15-70% by wt. of the compn. and (c) a polymsn. inhibitor as 30-300 p.p.m. by wt. of the compn. The compsn. has a low viscosity for easy distribution of the initiator and removal of air bubbles, is transparent, has permanent clarity, uniform R.I. after polymsn., good adhesion to glass, adequate shrinkage after polymsn. and good optical and acoustic props.</p> |
