A distributor for an internal combustion engine, which is fitted with a magnetic control generator in a conventional type housing. The ignition timing affects an electronic control circuit. The generator has a rotor driven by the distributor mechanism. It has a transmitter supported on a plate. The timing adjuster is controlled by an underpressure in the feed-pipe. There are two signal transmitters (7, 8) of different sensitivity and dimensions attached to the same plate (4). The transmitters are displaced by an angle equivalent to the timing delay between the idling speed and other speeds. They are switched in alternately via a control from the motor. The under pressure is obtained from an under pressure unit (6) attached to the outside of the housing.
