Trochoidal IC engine with two seals - has each seal lining one side and peripheral half of piston

Trochoidal internal combustion engine has a piston (1) which is clad by two seals (3) each of which line a flat side face of the piston and a lateral half of the piston periphery. The seals are urged apart against the sides of the piston housing by springs. The piston has three combustion chambers (2) each adjacent one of the apexes of the trochoidal shape, and the peripheries of the seals have portions (4) extending into and around the chambers. These portions from expansion bends which absorb expansion of the remainder of the periphery.
