Pipe connection is esp. suitable for fitting together a supporting structure for a drilling platform on its foundations. On the insertion end two or more guides are welded, each having a piston working in it, movable through opening in the insertion end and the pipe in which it fits. These opening can be of truncated-cone section, as can the portions of the pistons engaging in them. The pistons can each have their independent drive units or can be connected by rods extending towards the pipe centre to a coupling piece. The rod driving the coupling piece can have a taper portion working in conjunction with spring-loaded wedges.
