Rotary piston IC engine - has mixture compressed, ignited and expanded by intermeshing gears in sealed housing

The rotary piston i.c. engine comprises a housing contg. two meshing gear wheels whose teeth constitute pistons. Mixture entering the inlet ports of the housing is compressed by the pistons as they move into mesh during rotation of the wheels. Near the point of the closet mesh the mixture is ignited. The resulting expansion of the gases acts on the pistons to provide driving torque to the wheels as well as torque for the compression phase. The combustion products exhaust through ports in the housing opposite the inlet ports.
