Explosion suppressing installation - uses several detonator-operated pressurised extinguishant vessels connected to LV input transformer

The explosion suppressing installation uses for its activation the time period between the ignition of an explosive mixture and the pressure build-up to set off the detonator-operated extinguishing vessels. The relevant feature of the system is that it operates low voltage detonators and incorporates a short circuit, as well as a wire discontinuity monitoring. The system is fitted with an igniting device comprising a voltage transformer with low voltage input, producing in a capacitor impulse generated stored igniting voltage. In case of an explosion a thyristor and a transformer become operative in the circuit to discharge the capacitor. The primary winding of the transformer is connected to the detonators. The igniting circuit including all elements is monitored for short circuit and wire discontinuity.
