The oil burner has a first chamber for secondary burning of the combustion products of an internal combustion engine, using a first oil supply. The flow of combustion products is reversed over the outside of the first chamber into an annular second chamber where further combustion air is added. The flow enters the second chamber through an annular inlet zone containing an annual air vaporiser for a second oil supply which, above a given temp. replaces the oil supply to the first chamber. A separate supply of hot air is fed to the vaporiser.
