Mattress support frame with foot and head supports - consists of plywood struts hinged together, with adjustable props for both head and foot ends

The mattress support consists of a base frame to which are hinged a foot and head frame which hold sprung strips in plastic caps, fixed on the head and foot frames. The lengthwise struts (10, 11, 17, 18, 14, 15) are made of plywood strips placed on end upright; and the crosswise strips are made of plywood strips placed flat downwards (12, 13, 16, 19). The lengthwise struts (10, 11) of the base frame are joined by means of crosswise struts (12, 13) on the lower edges, whilst the crosswise struts (16, 19) of the foot and head frame are fixed to the lengthwise struts on their top edges. The lengthwise struts (14, 15, 17, 18) of the head and foot frame are hinged to the inside of the lengthwise struts (10, 11). The movement of the head and foot frames are restricted by projections (31) on the inside of the lengthwise struts (10, 11), and are supported by adjustable supports (20-23).
