The card index storage box has individual compartments divided by separating walls open towards the front, holding separate information data cards. The housing is composed of separate similar housing elements (1) made from plastic. These provide the corresponding number of compartments (2) each of which has a compartment separating wall (1a), a base section (1b) as well as connecting elements which fit into the corresponding adjoining elements. The connecting elements are made as pin (4) on one side and as bores (5) on the other side of the housing element. Deformable ribs are fitted either in the bores or on the pins to create a pressure fit.
