<p>Water-based lubricant concentrates contains (A) graphite and/or other usual solid lubricants, e.g. MoS2, Ba(OH)2, PbO, and (B) usual additives including sepg. blowing and thickening agents, with addn. of (C) a synthetic or mineral oil of lubricating viscosity and/or a usual oil additive, e.g. EP additive, dispersant/detergent and/or VI improver, opt. with a usual emulsifier, in amt. of 1-30% of the wt. of concentrate. After dilution with water it is used as lubricant for hot-forming of metals, esp. drop forging, semi-hot and hot flow pressing. Efficiency of the aq. lubricants is increased to equal that of oil/graphite mixt., while retaining the much reduced atmos. pollution.</p> |
