<p>Housing for blower directing flow at right angles is designed to reduce the noise level without abandoning the advantage of a stable pressure characteristic. It comprises two side sheets and two deflectors (a, b). The distances (d1 and d2) of both deflectors from the rotor circumference at their nearest point (A, B) to the rotor are less than 5% of the rotor diameter. The deflector surface (b) lying opposite the rotor circumference is shaped as a double wall with intermediary chamber so that the part (b1) lying nearest the circumference permits the passage of air but executes a known resistance to the throughflow. This wall section (b1) extends from the pressure chamber (D) via the point (B) of closest approach to the rotor circumference to the suction chamber (S).</p> |
