PURPOSE:To prevent the self-discharge and to lengthen the life of a battery by covering electrode and electrolyte layers with a fluororesin film, or by arranging plates on both outsides, then by bonding the peripheries with the fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:A solid state secondary battery consisting of a layer mainly comprising an electrode material such as copper Shevrel compound and a layer mainly comprising an electrolyte such as RbCu4I1.5Cl3.5 is covered with a fluororesin film such as trifluoromonochloroethylene, or copper plates are arranged on both outsides of the battery and the periphery of the battery is bonded with the same fluororesin. The electrodes are firmly bonded with the electrolyte layer and expansion attendant on charge-discharge cycles is retarded. Increase in internal pressure is prevented and deterioration in electrolyte quality caused by moisture in the atmosphere is also prevented. Discharge performance is increased, self discharge is prevented, and capacity drop in relatively short cycles is also prevented. |
