Cooling bath filled with liq. cooling medium, for elongated extrudates esp. electric cables and power lines, has, at the exit end, a seal for the cooling medium which closely surrounds the extrudate. The seal consists of a membrane which automatically closes the outlet dependent on the speed of flow of the cooling medium. Cooling of the extrudate can be restricted to selected sections of its length. Extrudates with a surface sensitive to mechanical damage pass the cooling channel without risk of deterioration. |
