The vehicle seat has a frame which is adjustable in height. The frame has toggle joints hinged together and intersecting each other in pairs. At one end the joints are hinged to the seat frame their other ends being hinged to the base frame underneath. - The toggle joints of one pair each have a toothed wheel at the intersection for each adjustment. One of the wheels is an internal gear, and the other a spur gear meshing in the internal gear. One of the wheels is mounted on a cam of the adjustment joining the wheels and rotated by a rotary knob. Bevel gears are in contact with the rotary knob and the adjustment.
