At least one of the rectifier bridges in the series is self-controlled. At first d.c. voltage is set by the self-controlled bridge operated by sections or sectors. Then, when the other rectifier bridges operating with phase shift control are brought into operation, the lagging fundamental oscillation current due to the phase shift control is so compensated, that the fundamental oscillation power factor is either = 1 or is capacitive. The system enables the operation of the rectifier to be controlled. |
