A process of bleaching carboxylic acid esters and/or epoxy compounds by irradiating the esters and/or epoxy compounds with ultraviolet light in the presence of ketone. The preferred compounds bleached are the epoxidized higher fatty acid esters. Benzophenone, acetophenone, and acetone are examples of some suitable ketones.
