<p>An apparatus for removing air from meat emulsions or the like. The apparatus, which can be quickly disassembled for clean up purposes, includes a vacuum chamber having an annular, downwardly diverging wall which is mounted upon a transversely positioned, rectangular pumping chamber. The rectangular chamber fills with meat at a faster rate than a circular chamber of comparable size, and, in conjunction with the diverging wall, alleviates the tendency of the meat to form a bridge above the piston of the pumping chamber.</p> |
