1279936 Surgical lancets DAMON CORP 9 Dec 1970 [15 Dec 1969] 58417/70 Heading A5R A surgical lancet comprises arms 12 and 14, the former constituting a handle and the latter carrying a blade 18, the arms being sprung apart by fold 16 and provided with latching means whereby the arm 14 can be released from a cocked position to perform a lancing operation under the action of the spring fold 16. The latching means may comprise a leg 20 extending upwardly from arm 14 and adapted to releasably engage with an aperture 26 in arm 12. A leg 22 formed with a foot 24 may be provided to limit the penetration of blade 18. In another embodiment Figs. 3 to 5, (not shown), the latching means comprises detents (54, 58) formed on a leg (48) which are adapted to engage with the free end of a blade-carrying arm (44). |
