<p>Prepn. of dibenzothiazyl disulphide, (I), takes place by dimerising 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, (II), or its Na-, K- or Li salt, by direct electrolytic oxidn. in a solvent, and if necessary, a carrier electrolyte suited to the solvent. The solvent and/or water. Electrodes are used, pref. of Pt, C, steel, Ni or metal oxide. Electrolytic oxidn. takes place at is approx. room temp. An electric current, having current density suitable to orm (I), is used for a time needed to complete the reaction. (I) is obtd. in yields similar or equal to 99%, without side-reactions. Waste water pollution is prevented. Solvent can be distilled off and recycled.</p> |
