Float element for fishing rods where a body which replaces the float, floats on the water. There are devices on the body which fix the heavy ballast during casting. These fixing devices are such that there is either a distribution of the ballast in the water on immersion after casting and consequently the body rests on the surface and this serves as a float or the ballast is so fixed to the body that there is no distribution on immersion in the water and the body remains submerged. The ballast consists of sand or small (heavy) stones and the body pref. is a synthetic resin such as polypropylene whose specific weight is >=1.
