Power socket accepting round or flat plug pins - fits standard size enclosures and has two sets of adjacent electrodes

A power socket (10) has two sets of electrodes and each set mates with either round or flat pins of an orthodox power plug. The basic socket can be fitted within the standard enclosure and has a combined earth pin protection system. Both sets of three electrodes are in line. Each set is at right angles to the other, is displaced laterally from it and is symmetrically arranged with respect to the axis of the other set. The earth or ground electrode is the central one in each case, and interconnection between the two earth electrode is made by a flat conducting strip.
