The seat, which is especially adapted for handicapped children, consists of a base and a bucket shaped seat (5). The seat (5) consists of a convex surface (7) which is movably fixed onto a correspondingly curved plate on the base. The plate has a groove, and the convex surface (7) has threaded holes for screws the heads of which are designed as turning knobs, for adjusting the tilt of the seat and back-rest. The chair base consists a a vertical tube (3) in which slides a rod (4) supporting the bucket seat (5). The rod can be locked in positioned at the required height in the tube. The foot rest (21) is also adjustable, and straps (17) enable the child to be strapped in.
