The elastic binding for e.g. the handles of tennis rackets is formed in an integrated multiple cord form. A typical cross section has two round cords joined tangentially. The resulting cross-section may be symmetric or asymmetric and the cords may be of solid or tubular form. The binding may be made of one-piece extrusion utilising special drawing plates. Alternatively cross-sections (Figs. 5 to 8) have the cords joined by a slender band. The band is tangential and joins the cords normal to parallel radii. A short-radial neck may be provided between each cord and the support band. Cords of different sections, e.g. triangular may also be incorporated.
|
