Motor vehicle compact rear light fitting - has lights in combined chamber with reflector ensuring legal light intensity

The multichamber lighting fitting is used esp. as a rear lights unit in a motor vehicle. The side-by-side arranged chambers accommodate incandescent filament lamps. The reflecting surface of the rear light and brake light is smaller than required by law for compact unit. The reflector (15) reaches into the area of the covering lens (12, 13, 14) for light from brake light bulb. Part of the brake light passes through the light openings (16) of the reflector. The reflector size can be selected independently of the size of the rear light chamber without affecting the size of the illuminated area of the brake light. The brake light intensity passing through the reflector is sufficiently high to reach the max. value rapidly.
