<p>The tool is used for the manufacture of pipe bend halves which can be welded together to form pipe bends. The tool has an upper die (25) the shape of which corresponds with the internal shape of a bend half. The matrix of the tool has a groove, the section of which corresponds with the other shape of a bend half. The sides of the groove are sloping to guide the material (26) being pressed. The matrix is built up from at least three pieces (10, 11, 12), the end faces (27) of which are parallel to the side of the groove in the matrix. The three parts are bolted together. A counter support (15) for the material to be pressed forms part of the surface of the groove and is mounted on guide pins in the matrix.</p> |
