<p>Disc cutter for rock drills, boring tools etc., forms one of several discs mounted on a rotary plate serving as tooling for the machine. The annular body (10) of the disc has a peripheral groove (14) for a number of evenly spaced cutters (16) which are each brazed into the groove for securement purposes. Preferably the intervening spaces between the cutters in their mounting groove should be filled with filler substance. These fillers, suggestibly though not specified made from molten steel, form spacers between the individual cutters forming the disc edge and at the same time prevent drillings or abrasives from penetrating the groove areas between the cutters.</p> |
