<p>The sound-insulating window has inner and outer frames held in contact by catches. These consist of a hooked plates (16) secured to the inner frame (4), engaging with a roller (9) mounted on a vertical rod (8) free to move axially in guides on the outer frame (3) and serving also to lock the window to the blind frame. The rod (8) is activated by a handle (6) which, when in its mid-way position releases the roller (9) from the lower recess of the hooked plate (16), permitting the inner pane to be removed after release of securing catches, and permitting the window to be opened about its vertical pivot. Raising the handle (6) further causes the roller (9) to engage with the upper hook (25). In this setting the window mechanism provides for opening on a horizontal pivot. A sealing strip is attached to the inner frame to each side of the hooked latch plate.</p> |
