1508000 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 12 Dec 1975 [14 Dec 1974] 51075/75 Heading F2A [Also in Division B3] The neck 1 of a rolling mill roll is journalled in a chock 4 by a multi-row cylindrical roller bearing 2, and by a double-row taper thrust roller bearing 3 located between the end face of the journal and an end housing 11 secured to the chock. The bearing 3 has two axially spaced outer races 12 and 13 supported in the boss part 14 of a cover 16 secured to the end face. An intermediate race 5, on which the rollers of both rows bear, is carried on a central boss 6 mounted on the housing 11. The cover 16 and thrust bearing can be removed as a unit with the housing 11, after releasing the screws 15. Radial fins 29 on the cover promote a cooling flow of air through openings 19 in the housing 11. Ducts 34 and 33 in the cover and boss 6 act as entry ports for the air. Seals 21, 24 and 25 protect the two bearings from dirt. |
