In a cross point switch information in the form of groups of charges incoming on any of transmission lines 1, 2 or 3 may be diverted to any of lines a, b or c by energizing the appropriate electrode, e.g. 1a or 2b or 3c so that charge is transferred through the storage medium to the storage sites at the other surface of the medium.
