<p>Pref. 5-15 wt. % cyclohexanone and/or cyclohexanol (dry substance basis) is added to aq. dextrin or starch size after boiling, to prevent or reduce retrogradation. The viscosity is stable, allowing storage for 3-6 months at room temp. This excellent viscosity behaviour is retained even on cooling to th f.pt. so that costly special trucks are no longer necessary for transport. The size should contain ca. 70-40% dry substance and opt. other additives, e.g. glycerol or ethanol to prevent bacterial degradation.</p> |
