<p>The circular walled building for rearing pigs has a gently sloping, conical roof and base. An intermediate floor (4) divides the building into upper and lower chambers. Floor (4) comprises gratings. An annular duct (26) below floor (4) has ventilation holes in its lower surf and is connected to atmosphere by a radial duct (28) and chimney (32). A fan (30) may be provided to draw foul air from above the manure pit (9), through the ventilation holes, into duct (26) and discharges it to atmosphere. Fresh air entering at (40) is warmed by heat given off by the animals as it descends.</p> |
