<p>An ear-piece is used to excite the middle ear. It can vibrate the ear drum and hammer assembly at an appreciable amplitude. The ear-piece has a grip (5) with two legs (6, 7). The legs (6, 7) go through the ear drum (4) to grip onto the hammer (3). The grip (5) also has a magnetic material disc. A moulding (10) with an electromagnetic inductance coil (11) is fitted in the ear canal (2). The coil (11) is connected to a signal source (12). The legs (6, 7) of the grip (5) are made of non-magnetic material covered with a noble metal.</p> |
