The blinker circuit, for an incandescent lamp, consists of a bimetal strip forming a switch (1) in series with the lamp and heated by a resistance (2) through which flows the lamp's current when the bimetal switch is open. The bimetal contacts are shunted by this resistance and the resistance is shunted by a capacitor (4) in parallel with a diode (3). The diode prevents the lamp from turning off completely when the bimetal contacts are open: its intensity is only reduced to half compared to the full level when the contacts are closed.
|
