1410681 Linear electric motor-operated sliding doors CONZ ELEKTRICITATS GmbH 9 Feb 1973 [11 Feb 1972] 6470/73 Heading E2M J A double sliding door assembly includes a linear electric motor having a primary part I connected to one door 7 and a secondary part 2 connected to the other door 6 so that the relative speed of the secondary part during operation is equal to twice the absolute speed of each door, the motor being associated with an eddy current brake 2 to operate such that the speed of the motor is low compared with the theoretical maximum speed so that variations in external friction on the system have minimal influence upon the speeds of the doors. A spring 13 may be provided to tension the secondary part 2 of the motor to take up any thermal expansion in the latter which would otherwise result in contact between the primary and secondary part. |
