Crane and crab overload protection system - has travel wheels in eccentric bearings with spring rocker levers

The overload protection or weighing system is for travelling cranes and crabs. The travel wheels (1) are mounted on axles (7) in eccentric bearings, being held in position by spring-loaded rocker levers (5). Their movement under overload actuates a switch stopping the hoist motor, or acts on a measuring cell. The axle can be of standard type, with the wheel running on an eccentric bush or the bush can be built into the structure (2). The axle can be carried in bearings on one or both sides of the structure. The design can be incorporated in existing machines.
