<p>The switch is mounted on the motor vehicle steering column and consists of a case in which a lever is mounted, movable from a central 'off' position to four 'on' positions arranged crosswise. It automatically returns to its 'off' position. The lever makers contact between movable contacts and fixed contacts mounted in the case. Fixed contacts (14) are mounted on surfaces parallel to the leverl inner end (9) direction of movement, and movable contacts slide on them when the leverl is operated. The contact bridge (20) is backed by a carrier plate (18) and has its other faces in contact with the tracks (14). The spring loaded member has rounded faces (19) in contact with the tracks and with the central spindle of the switch.</p> |
