<p>Bedding and clothing contg. feathers or down which have been treated by the method described in DT 2228491 (i.e. by treatment with Al- or Zr salts of low organic fatty acids followed by thermal treatment), can be washed at high temps. in water contg. commercial alkali-free washing agents and prim. or sec. alkali salts of o-possphoric acid as stabiliser. The presence of the stabilisers in the wash bath alloys cushions, bedding, (esp. hospital or hotel bedding), sleeping bags, protective clothing, etc., contg. the treated feathers, to be washed e.g. at 90-95 degrees C without degradation of the keratine or with the formation of orange and red colours by diazo reactions. Since high washing temps are possible (compared e.g. with ca 60 degrees C without the stabiliser), improved disinfection of the articles is obtd. with a consequent increase in hygienic performance.</p> |
