The automatic windscreen wiper control has pairs of di-electric, or semi-conductor sensors spaced over the windscreen to detect the incidence of water or ice and snow particles. The sensors operate on the change in electrostatic charge from the rain or snow. Interference from radio waves etc. are eliminated by having pairs of sensors with a differential control between them.
