Aq. dispersions of rosin-based materials contg. as dispersing agent an oligomer or its salt with a 8-100C hydrophilic segment contg. at least 4 pendant COOH gps. and a hydrophobic alkyl sulphide, sulphoxide or sulpho gp. attached to the end of the main chain. Used as sizes in paper prodn. or for external application to paper. The dispersions have high mechanical stability, good stability on dilution with hard water and low foaming properties.
