The window-washing equipment has a supporting frame guided along the building face and movable up and down, incorporating a wiping mechanism. The frame is rectangular, accommodating the electrical wirting for the controls, the wiping mechanism being mounted between the vertical side-members. This mechanism slides towards and away from the building face in the horizontal direction. There can be adjustable guides at each side of the frame, fitting round two vertical guide bars extending down the building face. These bars hinge at the top via a self-adjusting mechanism on the crab travelling along a rail mounted at the roof cave. At their lower ends, the bars bear against the building face via two horizontal pivoting spring loaded distance pieces with wheels at their building ends, over which a crawler track runs.
