Perforated refractory tube - used as tree trunk for easy assembly of lost wax pattern clusters in precision casting

Device for mfg. clusters of lost wax patterns for the mass prodn. of precision castings, has prefabricated, baked ceramic tubes(1) used for the trunk of the cluster or "tree" of patterns. A baked ceramic baseplate is pref. used as a template for assembling the clusters; this plate may also be used as a pressure plate if centrifugal casting is employed. The casting funnel is pref. also made of a baked ceramic and located on the tube(s) (1); the tubes may be coated with a refractory wash and also employed as casting channels or downsticks in the mould.
