The tool for applying liq. adhesive to vertical surfaces has a reservoir (1) of U shaped cross section for the adhesive. A handle (2) is attached to a fork with its prongs pivoted at each end of the reservoir (1). The bottom of the reservoir (1) has a narrow slot (14) which is normally closed by the secondary roller (3). The secondary roller (3) has a central hole (12) which is a very loose fit on the spindle (11). - The main roller (4) has a spindle (5) which fits in elongated holes (7) in lugs (6) projecting downwards from each end of the reservoir (1). When the tool is pressed against a wall the roller spindle (5) rides up the hole (7) and pushes the secondary roller (3) clear of the slot (14) so that the main roller (4) is coated with adhesive which is then transferred to the wall.
