The block has two plate-type outer layers (2, 3) between which are three parallel rows of cavities (1). Between the cavities and one of the two outer layers is a cavity which comes out on the abutment sides, and is filled with an intermediate layer (4) in the form of an insulating panels. The insulation consists of heat or sound proof material and has holes in corresponding to the cross-pieces (5). - The holes are elongated recesses (6, 7) a little distance from the edge of the plate. The holes (6) can have a cross section which is elongated and at right angles to the bearing sides of the block. The recesses can also be cylindrical. The insulating plate (4) can have dovetailed projections at both sides.
