<p>1507278 Liquefied gas storage containers GAZ-TRANSPORT 17 Aug 1976 [22 Aug 1975] 34163/76 Heading F4P In an insulated gas storage container comprising primary and secondary sealing barriers 7, 4 and primary and secondary insulating barriers 6, 3, the metal sheets forming the primary sealing barrier 7 are secured at a corner to metal strips 17, 19, Fig. 2, which are each mounted on a plurality of longitudinally aligned, spaced blocks 16, 18 to define a deformable angle member 11 each of the blocks being held against the adjacent insulating barrier 6 by bolts 12 fixed to a support structure 1, 3, the blocks 16 bearing at one edge against the blocks 18. As shown the secondary sealing barrier 4 and insulating barrier 3 are similar to the barriers 7, 6, each insulating barrier comprising boxes filled with insulating material. The secondary barrier 4 is also secured to an angle member 9 secured by bolts 10. The bolts 12, 10 each comprise a stud 13 secured to the structure 1, 3 a threaded connector 14 and a rod 15 threaded at each end, and the bolts are located at the spaces between the blocks 16, 18 which are recessed at 24 to receive a retaining plate 25 and nut 26. A sealing member is located on each bolt 12 where it passes through the secondary sealing barrier 4. Plates 30 screwed to the blocks 16, 18 and abutting on battens 31 attached to insulating boxes 3, 6 bridge the gap between the blocks and the adjacent boxes, the space beneath being first filled with insulating material. In a second embodiment, the insulating barriers are formed of foamed plastics blocks reinforced with glass fibres, and the secondary sealing barrier may be a sheet of resin-impregnated glass cloth, Fig. 6 (not shown).</p> |
