1507273 Making sulphur-free combustible gas STORA KOPPARBERGS BERGSLAGS AB 4 March 1976 [21 March 1975] 08802/76 Heading C5E A sulphur-free combustible gas is obtained by (i) partially gasifying liquid or solid carbonaceous material (after disintegration of solid carbonaceous material to a grain size of <3mm) in a first fluidized bed maintaned in a first vertically elongated reaction zone by supplying to the zone carbonaceous material, finely divided CaO- containing material and steam, (ii) separating solid materials from the flow of gases and solids leaving the zone, (iii) removing ashes and sulphur from part of the solid materials and returning that part to the reaction zone, (iv) transferring the rest of the solid materials to a second fluidized bed in a second zone wherein the solid materials are subjected to partial combustion with a flow of gases containing O 2 controlled so that the materials after separation from the reaction gases and recirculation to the first bed covers the heat requirement for the gasification there. |
